If you've ever been to one of our concerts with the Findell's, or maybe the art openings, then you know about the authentic Salvadorian food prepared by one of our homeowners Ana Rivas.
When her husband Mario was in a vehicle accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down, the entire family went into action. Mario's career in construction was over (he worked on over 15 Habitat built homes) and they had to find another way to earn a living.
Ana's cooking skills will take center stage as SAW Habitat for Humanity and the Rivas-Rivera family will collaborate to open a food truck offering authentic Salvadorian and Central American food. The truck will be located at the Habitat ReStore (818 Greenville Ave in Staunton) and will offer a wide selection of food and desserts from this region. Stay tuned as things develop.
